I am married to Waylan Leeper and have 2 sons--Jason, married to Gina Morphew and Brian, married to Kathleen Ellis. I have 5 grandchildren--Spencer, Scarlett, Jayce, Hannah Grace, and Braylon. I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising with my friends, playing the piano, and reading. As a Christian, I enjoy bible study and serving in my church through teaching and music.
I graduated from De Queen High School and from East Texas State University in Texarkana, where I received a BSE in Elementary Education. I received my Middle School Math Endorsement and graduated with an MSE in Educational Administration from Henderson State University.
I have been in education for 27 years. I was a classroom teacher for 10 years, was the Lockesburg Elementary Principal for 8 years, the De Queen Middle and High School Literacy Facilitator for one year, was the De Queen Middle School Assistant Principal 5 years, and now in my third year as the Middle School Principal.
I love our students! My goal is to affect their lives in such a way that they become the kind of people that will make a positive, meaningful difference in our world today, no matter what their chosen career is.
