DES Students for November. #Leopardpride

After reading several versions of the children's story Stone Soup, DES third graders in Mrs. Efird's class enjoyed making their own pot of soup and cornbread. Each student brought something to contribute to the soup and learned the theme of the story....when we all give what we are able to give, everyone can enjoy the results!

Progress Reports go home today.

Mrs. Miles 4th grade science classes have been using tuning forks to learn about sound waves.

Join us for a delightful gathering featuring delicious food, great company, and fun activities! We’re hosting a Senior Citizen's Day Luncheon at the De Queen Elementary School cafeteria on November 20, 2024, beginning at 11:30 am. This event is proudly sponsored by De Queen Public Schools.

Honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. Thank you, Veterans, for your courage, dedication, and sacrifice. #LeopardFamily

Last week, students at DES created drug-free posters in Ms. Lemser's art class to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. On Thursday, judges selected two students from each grade who showcased particularly creative posters aimed at encouraging a drug-free lifestyle. The elementary counselors rewarded each winner with a fantastic art kit as a prize. Congratulations to all our winners!

Hot air balloons operate on a simple yet magical principle: when air gets all toasty, it decides to float up like a balloon at a birthday party! Mrs. Unruh's science classes have been diving into the sizzling world of heat and molecules, all while flexing their engineering muscles to create their very own hot air balloons. Who knew science could be so uplifting?
